Riptide 14 Blue
UW Oshkosh Tournament Recap
Riptide 14 Blue opened their tournament season at UW Oshkosh on January 15th. The girls started out a little slow, but found momentum before the day was over. They dropped pool play matches to eventual tournament champion Falls 14 Red (14-25, 8-25) and tournament runner up G-Force 14 Green (13-25, 10-25). In their other pool play match, Riptide 14 Blue dropped a close two set match to Wolf River Select 14-1 (18-25, 20-25). Coach Katrina and the girls were able to regroup from the morning for a strong run in the Silver Division playoffs. They picked up their first match win of the young season in a hard fought, close semifinal match against Northern Impact 14 Orange (25-19, 23-25, 18-16). They rode the excitement and momentum from their close victory to defeat Wolf River Select 14-1 in a two set rematch from pool play (25-13, 25-22). The victory earned Riptide 14 Blue the Silver Division Championship! Congratulations girls!
Riptdie 14 Blue will return to practice for a week before hitting the court at the Riptide Open at Berlin High School on January 28th. They will also travel to Fond du Lac High School on February 14th, before heading back home to Berlin High School on February 26th. Riptide 14 Blue will wrap up their season at the Badger Region Championship on March 31 and April 1 in Milwaukee.
