Riptide 15 Blue got off to a slow start in the morning. They opened the tournament with a 9-25, 11-25 loss to Adversity 15-1, before falling to Muskego Stars 15-1 in two sets (14-25, 12-25). After a break, the team stepped up its offensive attack and service game. They finished pool play with a two set victory against KAVBC (25-10, 25-14). After moving into the Silver Division bracket with a 1-2 pool play record, 15 Blue won their semifinal match against G-Force (25-16, 25-21). The girls wrapped up a strong finish to their day by defeating Raytown in two sets (25-11, 25-12) to wrap up the Silver Division Championship!
Coach Pat Koster felt the team's strong serving in the second half of the day contributed to their successful finish. The girls logged 29 service errors in the last three matches alone. On top of that, Coach Pat feels the team's on-court communication is really picking up and leading to great team chemistry on the court. The girls are looking forward to keeping their momentum as they prepare for next weekend's tournament in Pleasant Prairie. They will have one more shot at home on February 25th at Berlin High School before completing their season at the Badger Region Championship in Milwaukee on March 17th and 18th.
Good luck girls!
